Are Cumulus going to release a production version of Cumulus VX?

This question is a bit unclear. CumulusVX is used by many to simulate production configurations already. If the real question is whether or not Cumulus is going to release a production-grade v-router with DPDK and other accelerations the answer is that it is not planned.

Hi Eric, yes it's around whether a virtual appliance would be released and supported or not, but you've correctly guessed and answered my question. Will an RFC4364-esque IP based l3vpn be available with the move to the FRRouting suite?

The move to FRR was completed in the 3.4.x train. Now that we're on FRR we mirror all the features available upstream. My understanding is that there are various external entities working on the l3vpn functionality within FRR and that it is getting closer to working/usable with each release. As to whether or not Cumulus will support that use case when it is available in FRR.... it is likely at some point that we will.
