I am using GNS3 and VirtualBox with Cumulux 3.1 to simulate the network test currently.

While try play around. I found that there are some problem when connect between untagged vlan to tagged vlan IP.

Following please find my config.

At Cumulus

swp1 connect to vPC host
swp4 connect to another Cisco switch.

cat interfaces
# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

source /etc/network/interfaces.d/*.intf

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
#iface eth0 inet dhcp
iface eth0

auto swp1
iface swp1
bridge-access 1001

auto swp2
iface swp2

auto swp3
iface swp3

auto swp4
iface swp4

auto swp4.1001
iface swp4.1001

auto peerlink
iface peerlink
bond-slaves swp2 swp3

auto peerlink.4094
iface peerlink.4094
clagd-priority 4096
## clagd-backup-ip
clagd-sys-mac 44:38:39:ff:00:01

auto br0
iface br0
bridge-vlan-aware yes
bridge-ports peerlink swp1 swp4
bridge-stp on
bridge-vids 1000-2999
bridge-pvid 1

Cisco part

FastEthernet 1/0 connect to Cumulus
FastEthernet 1/1 connect to host

interface FastEthernet1/0
switchport mode trunk
interface FastEthernet1/1
switchport access vlan 1001
duplex full
speed 100
interface Vlan1
no ip address
interface Vlan1001
ip address

Host <---> Host connection is able to PING

Switch <--> Switch connection is able to PING

However, when I try to PING between host or from Switch/Cumulus to. It is fail.

I also tried to add

auto br0
iface br0.1001

instead of swp4.1001 also fail

What correct config I should do?

Can the boxes see out of the setup? Is it just trying to bing back and forth that is not working?
