The Cumulus-FRR docker image is only for running FRR on the host, and does not contain the rest of the Cumulus LInux operating system. It cannot be taken and converted into a full Cumulus VX image.

There is not currently a plan to provide a docker image. To ensure functionality, it would be necessary to ensure the corresponding kernel from Cumulus Linux is used, which is not possible in a container based environment. As such, limitations and issues could be seen in docker environment.

Hi @kobis, does the link still not work for you? It's working for me. https://docs.cumulusnetworks.com/display/DOCS/Docker+on+Cumulus+Linux

Hi Kobis,
The differences between VX and other versions of Cumulus Linux are here: https:// - while the products are close in features, there's a few differences.
I can't speak as to whether there will be docker enabled VX version maybe someone from the product team can chime in - Pete B?
thanks
Richard
An other question,
Can I take Cumulus-FRR docker image and turn it into Cumulus VX docker?
What are the missing components?
Thanks Richard.

Does docker image for Cumulus VX is in the road-map of Cumulus? If the answer is yes, what is the estimation for releasing that image?

That's not an option currently, you have your choice of KVM, Vagrant, VirtualBox or VMware. There's also an ONIE image if you want to test that.
You could try following this, not sure if it will work though: https://docs.cumulusnetworks.com/display/DOCS/Docker+on+Cumulus+Linux
